With the use of Aquasafe 90 products the water in your hot tub should only need to be changed every 3 months; together with the addition of a once weekly oxidiser (approximately half a capful) and a once monthly bacteria test. The outside of the hot tub or sauna will need to be oiled a least once per year.
Yes, if the wood is untreated it will naturally change colour due to exposure to the elements.
Only for the Standard model as this does not have a polyurethane coating. Initially the tannin in the wood will seep out into the water and give it a brown appearance which is not harmful, and after subsequent water changes this will gradually disappear. This may also happen on a smaller scale for the Exclusive range as the bench seats do not have polyurethane coating so the tanin does have the potential to discolour the water slightly at first.
Yes, but for the Standard model only. For a few weeks with the Standard model there is likely to be seepage until the wood absorbs to expand and seal.
For hot tubs Wood ‘n’ Water does not recommend the use of these products within the water itself due to the difficultly of removing oil based products and debris left from bathing products, thus increasing the risk of bacteria growth.
For saunas aromatherapy oils can be used which we can supply..
This will depend on the heating system used, the wood burner method is very cost effective requiring only the cost of the logs, whereas the propane method (hot tubs only) uses approximately 1kg of gas per hour and the electric method will depend on your usage.
No, due to the excellent insulating properties of wood together with the use of an insulating cover, your hot tub will maintain a good temperature, thus depending on how long the hot tub has been out of use for it is often simply a case of heating the water a little more to reach your required temperature prior use and the time this takes will be determined by your heating system.
Yes, whether using the electric or wood burning heating method the sauna will require approximately 30 minutes to one hour heating prior use.
This will depend on the heating system used. Approximate advice is:
- Wood burning system can heat cold water in a couple of hours and will maintain heat for several hours after the logs have burned out.
- Electric systems can heat cold water in approximately 12 hours and will maintain a specific controlled heat according to your thermostat
- Propane systems can heat cold water in approximately 4 hours
Wood ‘n’ Water recommend combining the electric system with either the wood burning or propane system.
Wood ‘n’ Water can hand-make, supply and install your hot tub or sauna within 4-8 weeks from deposit and order confirmation, depending on the model chosen. Once the foundation has been constructed
(if this is necessary) it can be assembled and be ready for use usually within a couple of days from delivery.
